Jeep catches fire in Shawville

The Shawville Clarendon Fire Department didn’t have to drive far when they responded to a Jeep Liberty that caught fire on Friday afternoon in the parking lot across the street from the fire hall. The call came in just before 6 p.m. and 10 firefighters responded.  “He was driving, actually by the fire hall, and he pulled into the Pentecostal church yard,” said Chief Lee Laframboise. “It just started … smoking and it was all in flames by the time we got there.” Laframboise added that the owner stated he recently had some work done, but the cause of the fire was uncertain.
