MUNICIPALITY OF PONTIAC Feb. 14, 2021

An MRC des Collines police patrol of Municipality of Pontiac (MoP) snowmobile trails on Feb. 14 resulted in eight statements of offence being doled out to snowmobilers.

The patrol, which was focused on prevention and accompanied by members of the Pontiac Snowmobile Drivers Association, stopped a total of 50 riders through the course of the day.

The various statements of offence handed out were for: missing documents and equipment, unpaid registrations and failing to have a trail pass. In a Feb. 15 Facebook post, the police force shared that there were several warnings given out in addition to the eight tickets.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Martin Fournel said in an email to The Equity that units frequently patrol the trails throughout the municipality during the winter.
