The Zion Lutheran Church held their annual memorial service and supper last Sunday. There was a large attendance with people from near and far who came to remember loved ones and place flowers on their graves. The meal following the service was delicious as usual. The guest minister was Pastor Fred Haak. The singers were Phillip Holmes and Roy Bretzlaff. Pastor Haak and his wife Grace also sang a duet. The organist was Roy Bretzlaff. Everyone also enjoyed meeting old friends and socializing.

We are getting a lot of rain and it is making it very hard for the farmers to do their hay. The garden vegetables are doing well but too much rain is not so good for some.
There is a great crop of blueberries this year with all the rain. Hugil’s Blueberry Ranch has a bumper crop this year and I hear that the wild ones are in abundance too. My cousins were visiting from Sudbury, Ont. this weekend and they were saying there is a bumper crop there too and that there are a lot of people coming to pick.
There have been bear sightings on Johnson Lake Road recently and one is quite large so be careful when you are out walking.
