Congratulations to Sarah Michelle Davis on the arrival of her twin boys last week. She named the babies Atlas and Nixon and they arrived early but I hear they are all doing very well. Wishing Sarah all the best. I know her whole family is excited and anxious to have the boys home soon. Double the blessings, how wonderful.
The weather this past Labour Day weekend was great for everyone taking in the return of the Shawville Fair.
Kudos to all who made the fair happen this year amidst continuing COVID-19 restrictions. Congratulations to all who took part by entering handicrafts, participating in the 4-H shows, the truck and tractor pull, the demolition derby and all other aspects of the fair. A special shout-out to my friend Lindsay Hamilton who received a red first place ribbon for the quilt she entered. I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and happy fair weekend.
On Saturday, my family held a yard sale at my place and I also had my first Watkins pop-up sale at the same time. We had a very successful day. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to check out my Watkins products and to all who shopped our yard sale. It was a perfect day for it.
Birthday wishes are going out to Raymie Duquette and Hayden Hobbs who both celebrate on Sept.9. Happy birthday to my brother Luke on Sept. 10 and to cousin Donna Kennedy on Sept. 11. Birthday wishes are also going out to Cassandra McKay on Sept. 14. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
Over the past few weeks, the minor ball season wound up for our local softball players. They all had a terrific season back on the ball field again. Hats off to all of the parents and volunteers who coached and umped ball games this year and of course to the kids who played. Congratulations on a great season.
