We were saddened to hear of the passing of Leonard Duff of Allumette Island, Que. He was the beloved husband of Atje (Nieuwland). Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Atje, family and friends at this difficult time.
This past week, Donald Pelletier and daughter Leslie of Edmonton, Alberta visited Donald’s father Jean Pelleiter, family and friends.
Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Kaitlyn Lair and Tyler Neuman on the birth of their beautiful daughter Halie Hazel who was born on Sept. 1. Halie weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz and measured 19 inches. Kaitlyn and Tyler feel so blessed.
Congratulations and best wishes are extended to Carley and Rod Sinclair of Pembroke, Ont. on the birth of their beautiful son Frederick James. Freddie was born on Sept. 2 and weighed in at 8 lbs and measured 19 inches. He is a little playmate for Gwendolyn, Rachel and Cameron.
On Sunday, the Black River Co-ed Bass Fishing Derby was held. There were a total of 19 teams that participated despite the heavy rain in the morning.
First place winners were, Murphy Throp and Curtis Hokum. They reeled in 12.13 lbs. Second place winners were Yvan and Colton Laback. They reeled in 12.6 lbs. Third place winners were Lance and Rita Godin. They reeled in 10.11 lbs. Fourth place winners were Dereck and Abbie Rochon. They reeled in 9.10 lbs. The big man fish was reeled in by Curtis Hokum at 3.3 lbs. The big woman fish was reeled in by Abbie Rochon at 3.6 lbs.
