I, for one, am sick of this humidity and hot weather. I do not function well in this heat and I’m sure most people don’t either. I’m glad that the temperatures are cooling down this week to the low 20s so I’ll be able to get some work done.
I have been pickling a few things but freezing more. It doesn’t matter which method you use, you still have to turn on the stove and it heats up the house. I’ve got lots of zucchini and cucumbers if you’d like some. Come and get them. I’m happy to share.
l will be sad to see the end of the garden. It was so nice to walk outside and get fresh veggies every day. It’s too bad it only lasts a couple of months.
I ate enough beans, cukes and zucchini in the past month to keep me content for a long while. It’s just like corn on the cob, once you’ve eaten four or five good snacks, you’re okay for another year. Then you really enjoy that first snack again next year.
So, now we need to show our vaccine passports to get into a lot of places. It’s going to be very hard for small businesses to monitor this on top of all the other restrictions they have. Please be patient. It’s not their fault. They have to follow these rules or be faced with fines and closures. We need to convince the non-believers to get their shots to put an end to this pandemic.
Happy birthday wishes go out to the following people: Terry Crawford on Sept. 2, and to Claude Pilon on Sept. 4.
Happy anniversary to Kim and Brian McCoshen on Sept. 6.
Congratulations to Melinda Sloan who spun the wheel of fortune and landed on the $200,000. So happy to hear that someone we know won.
There are a few Gofundme sites set up for Jeff Benoit who has been recently diagnosed with cancer. He and Shelly can’t work and need our support. Please help.
