It was recorded that this was the driest May in over 100 years. Farmers are still feeding the cattle hay which is getting very scarce by the way. If they left them out to pasture, the cattle would destroy the pasture right away because the root system isn’t established yet. They are in a real dilemma . . .
The lack of rain doesn’t help the rest of us either. Wells are getting low, gardens are dry, we are in a heat wave and the weatherman keeps promising rain but it’s not happening.
People are fed up with the pandemic and by the end of this week they’ll be fed up with the heat too. By the way, starting this week, we can book our second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine even if you already had it booked, now we can get it earlier. The quicker we get the two shots the quicker this pandemic will be over. Well, not over but at least things will open up more and not so many people will die or be hospitalized. Please step up to the plate and get your shot.
Happy birthday wishes go out to my aunt Francis Mayhew, on June 9, Robert Carle on June 14, Hunter Sloan and Barb Sparling on June 15.
Happy anniversary wishes go out to Robert and Guylaine Carle on June 11.
I had a yard sale this weekend and it was pretty successful. I will be having more and will keep you posted. Next time I will have lemon and butterscotch pies and have lot of baking ready. Everyone seems to be interested in baked goods. If you would give me a clue what you would like me to make, give me a call. I’ll be happy to make it for the next sale.
Hope you all survive this heat wave and are able to find some way to keep cool. I’m sure glad I don’t live in the city in an apartment without an air conditioner. Can you just imagine how hot some of those people are. No wonder they all flock to the beaches in droves.
