Unwarranted mistrust

Unwarranted mistrust

The Equity

A friend of mine is house-sitting this winter. Before the people left they mentioned a young cat they’ve been feeding. We decided it would be a good thing to . . .

keep buying food and feeding the little thing and that is what we are doing. This weekend, while visiting my friend, the cat appeared.  Frightened of people, it runs away easily, but it is thriving because of the food left outside for it.

That cat reminds me of how we often behave toward God. He shows us His love by giving us everything we need to live. We have sunshine, water, air and food in abundance. He is even ready to have a relationship with us if we would only trust and ask. Instead we choose to run and hide. And worse than that, we mistrust His character when things don’t go our way. We spurn His love. Still He continues to love us. We need eyes to see and hearts that believe.
