The first spring meeting of St. Mary’s CWL was held the evening of April 8. Following the reading of the March minutes, correspondence and the treasurer’s reports were given.
Items discussed were the annual Rock-a-thon scheduled for April 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the league’s banquet which is to be held at Pine Lodge in Bristol, Que. on May 5.
Children from St. Mary’s, Bristol and Wolf Lake parishes will receive their First Communion on Easter Sunday at St. Mary’s 11 a.m. mass. The children will receive a small gift from the CWL to commemorate the holy occasion.
The diocesan spring meeting will be held on April 13, in Barry’s Bay, Ont. As usual, sympathy and get well cards were sent out in the community as needed.
The Easter story will soon be over — the somber days of Lent and Holy Week will be replaced by the beautiful celebration of Easter. We wish all in our community a happy Easter Day.
