THE EQUITY has received seven nominations from the Quebec Community Newspaper Awards.
Editor Chris Lowrey was nominated for best photo essay (May 10, 2017), best news photo (May 10, 2017) and best sports story (Aug. 30, 2017) about Bryan Murray’s remembrance service.
Assistant Editor Caleb Nickerson was nominated for best headline writing (May 31; June 21; Sept 27, 2017).
General Manager Ann Taylor was also nominated for best advertising creation large format.
As a newspaper, THE EQUITY was the only paper nominated for best community newspaper promotion for the debate that was hosted for last year’s warden election.
THE EQUITY was also nominated for best feature page.
The awards ceremony is on June 8.
