Brian Brownlee, a Clarendon man facing second-degree murder charges relating to the death of Shawville resident Darwin Zimmerling in January, was denied bail by a judge at the Gatineau courthouse on June 8.
Police were called to Brownlee’s home on the 4th Concession in the early morning of Jan. 18 where they discovered Zimmerling, unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the Shawville Hospital.
Brownlee will reappear in court on Sept. 20 and crown attorney Marie Claude D’aoust said that he could face additional charges stemming from the firearms seized at his residence.
