Toller unveils 11 priorities for 2018

At the council of mayors meeting on Feb. 21, MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller revealed a list of 11 priorities for the region. The list was formulated during a retreat the mayors attended on Jan. 20 in Shawville.

At the council of mayors meeting on Feb. 21, MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller revealed a list of priorities for 2018. The list was compiled after the 18 mayors’ first annual retreat on Jan. 20 in Shawville.
The priorities are as follows:
1 – Internet and cellular coverage
2 – Increased forestry
3 – Increase agriculture operations
4 – Pontiac Pool
5 – Improve road infrastructure
6 – French CEGEP and trades program
7 – Increase composting and recycling
8 – ATV trails network
9 – Tourism marketing
10 – Regional industrial park
11 – Small business creation/Main Street revitalization
Toller explained that in a year, the council will release a report on the progress made on each file.
“The goal of the retreat was to discuss local issues and st our regional development priorities for 2018,” she wrote in a press release.
