OTTER LAKE Feb. 17, 2021
Parents in Otter Lake looking for a fun family activity have just a few more days left to register for a municipality-wide snow sculpture competition.
One of the organizers, Kassandra Fleury said that the event was . . .
thought up by Fred St-Pierre of Remorquage St-Pierre, as a way to bring the community together despite the public health guidelines.
“We usually have a carnival in Otter Lake and for the last few years we didn’t have it,” she explained. “We just figured with the COVID and everything going on, he thought it would be a good idea to get the kids outside with their families.”
She said that the contest is open to children up to 16, but parents and older siblings can help out too.
When reached by THE EQUITY last week, Fleury said that they had already received about 15 registrations.
Prizes from first to third are $150, $100 and $50 respectively. The judging will take place on Feb. 28.
Registration is open until Feb. 20, and can be done by calling or texting Fleury at 873-376-3805.
