Several dozen people gathered at Mickey Creek Golf Club on Saturday morning to hit the greens in support of the Shawville Recreation Association (RA).
Organizer Kathy Murray explained that the RA has been holding an annual golf tournament for the past few years to help with upkeep to the RA hall and keep registration costs down for their activities. She added that it typically brings in about $1,500 for the association.
After the tournament finished, players gathered in the RA hall for a spaghetti dinner.
The tournament was won by Evan Atkinson, Mac Ellison and Connor Stephens, coming in 2 under par.
Winners of the longest drive competition were Darcy Findlay for the men and Tina Hillier for the women. Closest to the hole was won by Thomas Barry for the men and Terri Smart for the women.
