Police arrested a repeat drunk driver in Mansfield et Pontefract on Tuesday morning for riding an ATV on . . .

a public road with a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

At around 9 a.m. on July 7, officers intercepted the 61 year-old Fort Coulonge man travelling on rue Poirier in Mansfield and arrested him at the scene. He was taken to the police station but later released with a promise to appear at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse at a later date.

In addition to having his vehicle impounded for 30 days and his licence suspended for 90 days, he also received fines totalling $3,003 for driving with a suspended licence, driving on a public road and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Marc Tessier said that the accused had been arrested for drunk driving in May of this year with a blood alcohol level that was three times the legal limit.
