The Ontario government announced last week that they would be limiting travel into . . .

the province in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19. On Monday, traffic was snarled on the bridges into Ottawa, as police had set up checkpoints to inspect vehicles entering the city. Police were also stationed at other provincial access points, including the Ontario docks of the Quyon Ferry.

On Friday, Quebec’s Deputy Premier Geneviève Guilbault, tweeted out that they would be limiting Ontario residents from non-essential travel to the province and added that they were in discussion with Doug Ford’s government to determine the terms.

“The propagation of variants must be limited. It’s a matter of security,” she wrote in french.

Motorists will only be allowed to cross for work, medical appointments, court, or to exercise Indigenous treaty rights.
