On Wednesday, a group of students from Pontiac High School (PHS) made a significant donation to the . . .

Maison de Famillie du Pontiac (MDF)’s snowsuit fund.

The school’s WeAct club has been selling Dilly Dip by the Pickle Vixens of Pembroke, to raise money for the fund, which provides winter clothing for local children in need. A dollar from every container sold went into the pot, and the group of students managed to bring in $320. In addition, local company J.R. Drilling donated an additional $500 to the cause, bringing the grand total to $820.

Staff coordinator Wendy Moore explained that the club has been around for about five years now, and fundraises for a variety of local, as well as global causes. The biggest seller from the club was Trinity Moreau, who received a Pickle Vixen shirt for all her hard work.

Lisa Danis, the President of the Pontiac MDF, accepted the check from the club, and expressed to the group how grateful she and her staff were for the cash infusion.

“They’re not expecting this,” she said. “They’re going to be just amazed.”
