A fire claimed a house on rue Patterson in Campbell’s Bay Monday morning.
Crews were called out at around 8 a.m. and when they arrived the building was fully involved.
Chief Kevin Kluke said that they had some difficulty fighting the blaze as the house had been used for storage, and firefighters weren’t able to easily get in and get water on the flames.
“It’s challenging to fight from the outside because you can’t get at it,” he said. “It was a very heavy fire load, they call it, lots of stuff.”
Due to a dispatching mistake, the Shawville-Clarendon department sent a truck initially as well.
Kluke said his crews were on scene for around six hours putting it out and added that the cause of the blaze is unknown.
