NORWAY BAY

Sept. 13, 2019

Despite the gloomy weather on Friday evening, a good sized crowd turned up at the public beach in Norway Bay for a cocktail party put on . . .

by the vendors of the Bristol Market. There was a variety of locally sourced food and drink for attendees to sample, from cider and craft beer to pizza and desserts.

Greg Graham of Coronation Hall Cider Mills, said that the party was the brainchild of a new vendor, Lana Cowley, who joined the group around the time they moved from their old location at the Wyman rest stop on Hwy. 148. He said that their decision to move to the heart of Norway Bay, at the beach, has paid off.

“It turned out to be a success,” he said. “[There’s] a lot of people here, a lot of vitality.”

Cowley, who recently returned to the bay and operates a catering company, said that her plans to celebrate earlier in the season were delayed by nature.

“I wanted to do something this summer, but with the flood… it took a while,” she said. “I thought it would be fun, we’ve had a great summer here on the beach.”

The public beach in Norway Bay was packed on Friday evening for the Bristol Market’s first ever cocktail party to mark the end of a successful season. The market switched locations to the beach this summer, from their old spot at the Wyman rest stop on Hwy. 148.
