PONTIAC Nov. 10, 2020
The provincial government announced the introduction of an all-encompassing resource hub for entrepreneurs on Nov. 10 called Accès Entreprise Québec, as well as accompanying funding over the next five years to help boost regional resources for MRCs.
The funding will be . . .
$97.5 million, $90 million of which will go to hiring resources within MRCs around Quebec while $7.5 million will be specifically for improving resource skills.
According to MRC Pontiac communications officer Colleen Jones, the amount of funding that will be directed to the Pontiac has not been specified. She said that more specific information on the funding announcement will be provided to them in early 2021.
The entrepreneur’s hub will be set up so that MRCs maintain their position as facilitators of economic development while businesspeople can simultaneously get access to support services, growth capital and investment.
The goal of the resource hub is to make access to these resources more digestible and available for use. It will serve as a replacement of the formerly used Local Development Centres (CLDs) that were discontinued in 2015 by the province, which also provided entrepreneurs with assistance.
