A virtual meeting to educate the public on municipal protocol and the roles of elected officials has been postponed.
The meeting is meant to inform citizens on . . .
how municipal government works, and explain the roles of both elected officials and public servants, with an eye to encourage participation in the elections this fall.
In a public message published to the MRC’s website on Jan. 8, Toller wrote that the first session was scheduled for Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and attendance would be limited to 30 participants via Zoom videoconference, with the possibility of follow up events if there was significant interest.
MRC communications advisor Colleen Jones sent an email to THE EQUITY on Jan. 15 to say that the meeting had been moved a month later to Monday March 8. She said the reason was to give more time for the organizers to prepare and for participants to register.
