An Ottawa man is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 148 in the Municipality of Pontiac, near the 5th Concession outside Quyon.
At around 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 15, police investigators say that a 42-year-old Gatineau man swerved from the eastbound lane into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle head-on.
The driver of the other vehicle, 66-year-old Ronald Arnold of Ottawa, was transported from the scene but died in the hospital. Police say alcohol and speed were not factors but they are investigating whether distracted driving might have played a part in the collision.
The highway was closed for several hours while investigators analysed the scene.
