The conditions of the greens at Mickey Creek Golf Club were perfect Saturday as Bryson residents gathered for a golf tournament in memory of a woman who was a pillar of their community.

Eighteen teams of four made their way out to Vinton for the Ruth Racine Memorial Golf Tournament, with the proceeds to go towards the Bryson Revitalization Committee.
Bryson Mayor Alain Gagnon explained that Racine, who passed away in February, was a leader in the village and a strong proponent of the Bryson revitalization efforts.
“She was really involved in the community,” he said. “She did all kinds of volunteer work, organizing events. We’re doing this year’s golf tournament to remember her involvement.”
It was clear from the turnout that Racine’s legacy of generosity would live on through her friends and family members that played in her honour.
