Staff, students and families at Pontiac High School and Dr. Wilbert Keon School celebrated the end of their high school careers on the weekend with respective end-of-year celebrations.
Pontiac High School staff, students and parents descended upon Pine Lodge on Friday, with 68 senior students getting gussied up for the occasion.
Guests enjoyed light food and drink in the garden area before taking to the red carpet one by one for the next portion of the evening’s activities.
Teachers, administrators and parents alike gave inspiring remarks to the graduating class before everyone enjoyed a poutine and Beavertail bar. After dinner, grads enjoyed a photobooth, music and dancing to cap off the evening.
Up the line in Chapeau on Saturday evening, graduates from Dr. Wilbert Keon School gathered with their friends and family in the school’s gym to celebrate their accomplishments. Teacher Karen McPherson introduced the students as they came into the hall, detailing their post-secondary ambitions. She announced that she too would be “graduating” in a way, as she was retiring after several decades in the classroom. Kaysen Stone was named the class valedictorian.

Le personnel, les élèves et les familles de l’école secondaire Pontiac et de l’école Dr. Wilbert Keon ont célébré la fin de leurs études secondaires au cours du week-end, lors de célébrations de fin d’année respectives.
Le personnel, les élèves et les parents de l’école secondaire Pontiac se sont rendus au Pine Lodge vendredi, où 68 élèves finissants se sont mis sur leur trente-et-un pour l’occasion.
Les invités ont savouré des bouchées et des boissons légères dans le jardin avant de fouler le tapis rouge un par un pour la prochaine partie des activités de la soirée.
Les enseignants, les administrateurs et les parents ont tous adressé des mots inspirants à la classe des finissants, avant que tous ne profitent d’un bar à poutines et à queues de castor. Après le souper, les finissants ont profité d’une cabine photo, de musique et de danse pour clôturer la soirée.
Plus haut sur la ligne, à Chapeau, le samedi soir, les finissants de l’école Dr. Wilbert Keon se sont réunis avec leurs amis et leur famille dans le gymnase de l’école pour célébrer leurs réalisations. L’enseignante Karen McPherson a présenté les élèves à leur entrée dans la salle, en détaillant leurs ambitions postsecondaires. Elle a annoncé qu’elle aussi « terminerait ses études » en quelque sorte, puisqu’elle prenait sa retraite après plusieurs décennies en classe. Kaysen Stone a été nommée major de promotion de la classe.
