SHAWVILLE April 26, 2021

The nominations for the Quebec Community Newspaper Association (QCNA)’s Better Newspapers Awards are out and THE EQUITY is in the running for a total of six awards.

Newsroom staff Caleb Nickerson, Stephen Riccio and Emily Hsueh, as well as design wizard Dave Moore, are up for Best Overall Newspaper, Best Front Page, Best Editorial Page and Best Feature Page. THE EQUITY placed first in the Best Editorial Page category last year.

A collaborative effort from Nickerson, Riccio and Hsueh, as well as former editor Chris Lowrey and print manager Breanna Adams, made the final three in the Best Headlines category.

Nickerson was also nominated in the Best Sports Photo category, and Hsueh was nominated for Best Business Feature.

The winners will be announced at the QCNA’s AGM in June.
