On Thursday afternoon (March 12), the Shawville-Clarendon Fire Department was called to a garage fire along Hwy. 148 just outside Shawville. Chief Lee Laframboise said that someone had been frying food in a pot of oil on a stove in the garage, which started a fire that caused significant damage to the interior of the building. He said 15 firefighters were on scene for over an hour putting out the blaze.
