The Shawville Community Bonspiel came to an end on Sunday evening, and after a couple of weeks of tossing rocks and community spirit out on the ice, a young team came out on top. Pontiac High School Big Cheese took home the Toilet Seat Trophy featuring, from left, James Orr, Jackson Alexander, tournment organizer Ian MacKecknie, Monica Tanguay and Cameron Rowat.
The 43rd annual Shawville Community Bonspiel brought out over 50 teams between Jan. 25 and Feb. 4. This year’s event was in honour of the club’s long-serving ice technician, Rick Allen, who passed away Jan. 18.
The bonspiel wrapped up Sunday evening, with a ton of prizes to hand out. Pictured: Shawville Curling Club President Jeff Russell thanks everyone for their participation before the award ceremony.

Shane Presley and Reg Carkner were rocking out at the Shawville Curling Club on Friday night, keeping everyone entertained with their tunes and witty repartee.
