A young woman from Gatineau was killed after her vehicle crashed on Hwy. 148 outside Quyon in the wee hours of April 10.
The 26-year-old, along with her passenger, a 27-year-old Otter Lake man, were travelling eastbound when they crashed into the ditch near the east end of Clarendon Road around 12:30 a.m.
The passenger was taken to Shawville Hospital where he was treated for shock.
The highway was closed for much of the morning between chemin Murray and rue Clarendon while investigators conducted an investigation, reopening around 11 a.m.
MRC des Collines spokesperson Sgt. Martin Fournel said that the investigation is still ongoing, and the cause of the crash is still unclear.
“All possibilities are on the table,” he said, explaining that the stretch of road where the crash occured is straight and flat.
Fournel added that officials had to temporarily close the highway for several hours again on April 12 to re-examine the scene.
