Covid update – Boileau extends mask mandate

A month after the easing of mask mandates, the increased reports of COVID-19 cases have led provincial public health officials to reassess and recommend the government to delay the lifting of mask mandates to at least May. The announcement was made by Dr. Luc Boileau durling an Arpil 5 press conferernce.

required to wear masks while in the classroom but masks were still mandatory on public transit.

Across the country, mask mandates have either been lifted or are planned to be, and with this announcement, Quebec will be the only place in Canada where masks are still mandatory.

As of April 4, Quebec is experiencing 2,615 new confirmed cases which bring the total number of people infected to 981,539. There are 72 more hospitalizations with a total of 1,479, 69 people in intensive care, and seven deaths in Quebec according to the government of Quebec. Quebec offers a second booster to people 60 years old and over

As of April 6, CISSSO listed the following statistics for Pontiac:

Bryson: 40 (+5)
