The Quebec government unveiled a regional colour-coded alert system for keeping track of COVID-19 on Sept. 8, and the Outaouais is currently in the yellow-early warning stage (level 2).
Public health will be . . .
monitoring and adjusting the system based on each region’s case numbers, its transmission control and its healthcare system’s capacity.
The four stages are vigilance (green), early warning (yellow), moderate alert (orange) and maximum alert (red).
With the Outaouais at the early warning stage, this means there will be increased fines to enforce compliance with COVID-related guidelines throughout the region.
As of Monday afternoon, the Outaouais had 99 active cases (998 total, with 865 recovered) and three hospitalizations, with one person in intensive care.
The number of active cases observed a weekly increase, going from 98 last week to 99.
The Municipality of Pontiac continues to be listed as having five or less cases, while the MRC Pontiac total remains at zero.
