The Municipality of Clarendon will be hosting a public consultation on its recently drafted campground bylaw at a Nov. 3 meeting at the Clarendon Municipal office.
The bylaw would create comprehensive guidelines for businesses that would want to run a commercial campground within Clarendon.
Director General Patricia Hobbs said that . . .
she has heard many inquiries about whether the municipality might create such guidelines.
While the Nov. 3 meeting will serve as a consultation session, it will also be an opportunity for the land use planning committee to determine if changes should be made to the bylaw before it goes forward at the next council meeting.
“We thought it would be better for us to create [a bylaw] so that rules are followed,” she said.
Hobbs said that residents who wish to look over its specifics will have to visit the municipal office in-person.
“[Residents] could go to the consultation without reading the document, but because we can’t hand out the document because it’s just a draft, they can come to the office and kind of look it over.”
She explained that Clarendon has a recreation and tourism zone that is located close to the Thorne area and that is primed for opportunity once the bylaw is officially voted in.
