A two-vehicle collision outside of Bryson last Tuesday sent a 28 year-old man to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

At about 7:30 a.m. on March 23, a vehicle swerved into the opposite lane, striking an oncoming truck near the intersection of Hwy. 148 and chemin Wallace. The vehicle ended up . . .

on its side in the ditch. The female driver of the truck and her young child were not injured in the collision.

Firefighters from the Shawville-Clarendon Department were called to the scene and helped extricate the driver of the vehicle.

“It was on its side so we cut the door off and then we cut the roof and the windshield and then just folded the roof down so they could take him out that way,” said chief Lee Laframboise.

The man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway and a police spokesperson said that there was no criminal element at this point, but added that the man would receive tickets for multiple infractions. The road was reopened by 10:15 a.m.
