Hydro Quebec is conducting work on the substation in Wyman in order to bring it into the digital age.

The work, which will replace one of the substation’s control buildings, began in May . . .

and will continue until December. A press release from Hydro Quebec states that the upgrades will allow them to carry out certain operations remotely. Wyman will be the first of five substations across the province to receive these renovations.

The substation, located on Sixth Line East, converts the voltage from transmission lines 25 kV from 125 and services the communities of Bristol, Shawville, Clarendon and the Municipality of Pontiac. Hydro Quebec warns that there will be increased vehicle traffic around the site during the duration of the upgrades.
