Forty-nine per cent of Quebec students between the ages of 5 to eleven have already been vaccinated across the province, and of the 1,300 students in Pontiac schools, only 236 students (26%) had been vaccinated as of the Dec. 9 press conference.
Dre. Pinard stressed the importance of remaining vigilant in order to limit community spread; this includes following known cases closely as well as rapid testing if there is a display of symptoms.
Pinard said that rapid testing kits will be sent home with students in the next week.
It was also mentioned that holiday gatherings of up to 20 vaccinated people will be allowed as of Dec. 23, 2021.
