The Pontiac service area (RLS) has had no new cases since Jan. 11, with the CISSSO registering five or less (minimum one) active cases and 60 total cases as of Jan. 18.
Since the pandemic began, the RLS Pontiac has had 39 total cases in the Municipality of Pontiac and five or less cases in eight different MRC Pontiac municipalities . . .
Waltham, L’Îsle aux Allumettes, Shawville, Fort Coulonge, Mansfield et Pontefract, Otter Lake, I’Île du Grand Calumet and Campbell’s Bay.
On Jan. 13, the CISSSO sent out a press release stating that nine of the 16 CHSLDs in the Outaouais had been visited as part of the vaccination campaign. It was also announced that vaccinations were beginning at the Papineau Hospital after receiving 1,950 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine on Jan. 12. Additional Moderna vaccine doses are expected this week.
“A total of 593 residents have been vaccinated out of 1,264, which represents 47% of them,” the release said. “We are targeting the beginning of next week to finalize the vaccination of all CHSLD residents.”
The regional health authority also provided an update on the vaccinating of health care workers, with 2,955 having received first doses as of Jan. 13.
The Outaouais had 369 active cases (5,609 total, 5,098 recovered) as of Jan. 18, which is a decrease of 61 cases from Jan. 11. There had been a total of 9 deaths recorded in the region over the past week. There were also 23 hospitalizations, with two people in intensive care.
The region continues to deal with active outbreaks at 12 health care facilities: Hull Hospital, Maniwaki Hospital, Hôpital et CHSLD de Papineau, Centre hospitalier Pierre Janet, Centre d’hébergement de la Vallée de la Lièvre, CHSLD de Gracefield, CLSC et CHSLD de la Petite-Nation, Manoir Le Buckingham, Résidence Cité Jardin, Résidence La Belle Époque, Résidence La Gappe and RPA Chartwell Domaine Notre Dame.
