Traffic down a segment of the Ottawa River near Litchfield will be shut down to the public once more as Hydro Québec continues repairs on power lines that traverse the river.

New cables will be installed across the river to replace ones that were . . .

dismantled in September, which resulted in another river shutdown.

The interruptions will take place from Nov. 10 to 19, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and the public is asked to stay away from the area.

“To ensure the safety of the workers and river users, guards will again be present on the river,” wrote the company’s community relations advisor Alain Paquette.

The project involves rebuilding a 1.6 km line segment located in the Litchfield industrial park that has deteriorated since its commissioning in 1941.

Hydro-Québec expects the repairs in the MRC Pontiac to be completed by the end of November.
