The Shawville Curling Club held its annual Funspiel on Saturday afternoon, bringing out 14 teams for a day of throwing rocks and yelling at friends and family. The event was organized by Kevin Hannaberry and featured a spaghetti supper.

On Saturday, the Shawville Curling Club hosted its annual Funspiel, pitting friends and neighbours against each other in competition to kick off the new season and raise money for the club.
The event was organized by Kevin Hannaberry and featured 14 teams divided among three divisions: Junior, Intermediate and Competitive.

Kicking off in the morning, the rocks were flying and the brooms were humming well all day.
A spaghetti supper, courtesy of Hannaberry and Shelly Campbell, was waiting for the curlers as they got off the ice in the evening.
The winning squad in the Junior division was “Big Cheese”, composed of Justine Tanguay, Jack Alexander, Cameron Rowat and Monica Tanguay. John Campbell led his team to victory in the Intermediate division and “Les Glorieux”, made up of Ron Tanguay, Jacques Gagné, Fergus Wrinn and René Cousineau, won the Competitive division.
