CAMPBELL’S BAY

Jan. 17, 2020

On Friday night, the Campbell’s Bay Legion, Branch 162 was packed for a chicken supper. During the dinner, President Ron Woodstock announced that . . .

they would be fundraising by auctioning off a model cabin that had been donated by local entertainer Tom T.

Tom said that he likes making models and usually donates something homemade every year as a fundraiser for the branch.

Woodstock said that he is committed to increasing both the Legion’s membership, which currently sits at 68, and also the funds they raise through their annual poppy and wreath sales.

He explained that each year the funds raised are reinvested in the community, through donations to the local hospital and long-term care facilities, as scholarships and upkeep at local cemeteries.

“We’re trying to show that the Legion is valuable,” he said.
