A delivery of parts for repairs to the Shawville water tower has been delayed, leading to a water usage reduction advisory for residents.

According to a statement from the Municipality of Shawville, the delivery from the manufacturer is delayed due to COVID-19, and could take three weeks to arrive, which would be September.

Until then, residents have been asked to limit their water usage as much as possible, avoiding tasks such as watering lawns and gardens and washing cars.

This reduction notice came just over a month after the municipality enacted another water reduction mandate due to scheduled maintenance and preventative measures on the water tower. It was lifted on June 26.
