The Corporation de Dévelopment Communautaire (CDC) Pontiac is shining a light on 22 local organizations and businesses to inform the community of all the resources this region has to offer.
Released at the end of January, the video series features organizations from Quyon, to Otter Lake, to Fort Coulonge and many towns in between. The videos were produced by Gatineau-based multimedia company Pixel and aim to . . .
show off what each business brings to the table.
“The goal is to really highlight the work of the community organizations and the people who work there,” said CDC Pontiac director general Michel Vallières. “So that’s what we want to highlight, to make sure that the people will know they have those resources in their community.”
The idea of the videos came after the CDC Pontiac released a video for their Forum 2018, which aimed to “improve the living conditions of the citizens of Pontiac.” In 2019, the CDC Pontiac launched a campaign called Someone Locally is Taking Care of It which focused more on the Pontiac’s businesses and the videos are phase two of that.
“We decided that we would like to have one video for each organization and send a very basic message,” Vallières said. “We had a certain amount of money for this project that we had to spend on a new project in the Pontiac. So we decided to use it for this campaign and to promote the organizations.”
Each video is 30 seconds long and has roughly 60 words, Vallières said. He explained that that was one of the biggest challenges: fitting enough information into such a short amount of time and words.
The videos can be found under the “Our Members” tab on the CDC Pontiac’s website.
“Especially in this time that we’re living right now, it’s important for people to know that they are not alone, there are people there, there’s a community there and those organizations are there to make sure that everybody will be taken care of.”
