Members of Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 162 in Campbell’s Bay marked Remembrance Day on Grand Calumet Island this year, along with members of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment.
The soldiers paraded down rue Brizard, stopping outside the town hall across from the cenotaph.

Local veteran George Lamothe recited “In Flanders Fields,” following the singing of the national anthem and the playing of the “Last Post.” Fellow members of the Campbell’s Bay Legion – Branch 162, Richard Bowie and President Ron Woodstock, also spoke during the ceremony.
Members of the community took the opportunity to lay a wreath at the cenotaph, many of which were in memory of comrades and family members.
Attendees were invited back to the Legion Hall in Campbell’s Bay following the service for refreshments.
