SHAWVILLE

July 18 -19, 2020

Over the July 18-19 weekend the PPJ trail in Shawville, as well as some nearby signage and a picnic table were vandalized with . . .

spray paint. The perpetrator(s) wrote slogans calling COVID a “lie” and imploring citizens to “wake up”.

MRC Pontiac engineer Kim Lesage said that they were notified by an email from a resident on July 20, and staff were deployed that same day to paint over the graffiti on the sign and picnic table.

She added that the paint on the asphalt is not as simple to remove, and could wash away in the rain. She said they would be reassessing it the following week.
