Over the past week, around 100 kids from the Shawville-Clarendon area gathered at a local church to sing, play and learn about the Bible.
Vacation Bible School or VBS as it is known, was organized this year at Grace Community Bible Church by Joy Moquin and a team of over 40 volunteers.
She explained that the children cycle through various stations throughout the morning, ranging from games to crafts, Bible lessons and videos.

This year had a shipwrecked theme, and the main hall of the church was decorated with rafts and streamers and plenty of exotic sights.
Moquin estimated that they had about 100 children registered, with about 90 showing up on a given day. On Friday, parents and family were invited for a wrap-up presentation and lunch.
VBS is a joint effort between three local churches: Grace, New Hope Christian Fellowship and Bethel Pentecostal. Each summer the location cycles between hosts, and the 2019 festivities will take place at New Hope.
