A man is facing several charges after an early morning crash in Vinton on March 28.

Just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sûreté du Québec officers received a call about a vehicle being driven erratically on Hwy. 148 in Litchfield. Another call at 8:10 a.m. alerted officers that the vehicle had lost control and crashed in the ditch.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital with minor injuries. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

He had his license suspended for 90 days and was released with a promise to appear at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse at a later date, where he could be charged with dangerous driving in addition to impaired driving charges.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for the morning while police conducted an investigation.
