PONTIAC June 17 2020
Born and raised in Ottawa, I’ve always been a city girl. I can’t say I ever thought I would find myself in a town like Shawville – I hadn’t even heard of the town before – but now . . .
I find myself on my own, starting a new journey with THE EQUITY.
I’ve got a strong passion for storytelling, and love doing that through the lens of a camera. Out of high school I jumped right into film school. But that wasn’t for me and I looked for another outlet, which came in the form of a journalism degree from the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College.
As a performer myself, I love covering arts, entertainment and anything fun that brings people together. Those have the most unique stories and colourful photos. Of course, the global pandemic has thrown a wrench in that aspect, but I’m looking forward to breaking out my camera and seeing what Pontiac has in store.
As much as I love taking photos, I also love being in front of the camera. I’m an orchestral bassist, an artist and a costume maker, and have written several stories about those topics. If I’m not creating music or art, I’m probably staying up way too late gaming with my friends back home.
Thanks to a grant from Heritage Canada, I’ll be exploring the Pontiac region, armed with my camera, to bring the stories from across the region to you both online and in print.
