EVA BALDI
Shawville June 16, 2021
My name is Eva, I am The Equity’s summer student in the junior reporter program. I have lived in the Pontiac since 2010 when my family moved to a farm in Beechgrove. If I look at all familiar, you may know me. . .
from my time in theatre productions both at Pontiac High School and with The Pontiac Community Players. More recently, you may know me as the girl that brings you charcuterie boards at Little Red Wagon Winery.
During the school year, I attend Trent university in Peterborough for my bachelor’s degree in political studies and sociology. My time away has taught me a few things, (1) trying to understand a city bus schedule in a place that you have recently moved to is much harder than it sounds, definitely bring a friend, (2) cafeteria food will never in a million years compare to a home cooked meal, and (3) the sense of community that we feel here in the Pontiac is not something that can be easily duplicated, which is why I love coming home.
Though I have enjoyed my time away at school, I am ecstatic about being back home for the summer and taking a larger role in the community through my work here at The Equity. I look forward to meeting new people and writing about what is happening in our amazing community.
