An early morning crash at the corner of rue Centre and rue Main in Shawville sent one man to hospital.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., a large flatbed truck was . . .

travelling south on rue Centre when it struck the driver’s side door of an SUV travelling east across the intersection, sending the smaller vehicle careening into a telephone pole before coming to a stop facing the wrong way in the northbound lane of the street.

Several motorists stopped to see if they could help and emergency crews were on scene within minutes. The driver’s side door needed to be taken off with the Jaws of Life.

The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters had to remove the door of the SUV with the Jaws of Life and the victim was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
