The Downtown Life Committee of Rapides-des-Joachims hosted a car show which attracted 150 cars from all . . .
over Quebec and Ontario on Saturday.
“I got some cars all over the place from the north all the way from Gatineau, Deep River, Pembroke, Cobden, Pontiac, all over the place,” said Downtown Life Committee President and event organizer Paul André Paquette.
The event also included a barbecue, events for the kids, a 50/50 draw and a draw in which the owner of every car registered at the event stood to win car care related prizes.
Two musical acts also performed live music at the event; Night Ryders and Ghys Mongeon.
“I heard about this and I wanted to check out this really small community and I am so surprised. It’s like a family. It’s like a lot of people know each other. The quality of the vehicles is out of this world,” said Harvey Martel, who drove his ‘59 international pickup all the from Windsor, Ontario to attend the show.
Paquette said that in total about 400 people attended the event, including about 80 kids.
This is an annual event and Paquette says he plans to hold the event again next July.
