The Connexions Resource Centre is offering a bursary program in partnership with McGill University and funded by Health Canada.
The Health and Social Services Community Leadership Bursary Program is meant to . . .
incentivize full-time, bilingual students in health-related studies to seek employment in their home region after graduation.
For underserved regions like the Outaouais, this program could help retain talented health professionals within their communities.
University students are eligible for $5000 if they are studying within the Outaouais and $10,000 if they are studying outside of the region.
Similarly, College and CÉGEP students are eligible for $2500 if they are studying within the Outaouais and $5000 if they are studying outside of the region.
Students within the Outaouais are also eligible for $2000 if they are receiving vocational training.
In all cases, these students are expected to live and work in the Outaouais for at least one year after their studies.
Applications are available through the Connexions Resource Centre. The application deadline for the program is May 16.
