Shawville hosts winter carnival

The Shawville Winter Carnival took place on Saturday at the fairgrounds, despite the mild temperatures. Throughout the afternoon there was free public skating, sliding and snowshoeing being offered. Also available for those wanting a snack were toasted marshmallows, popcorn, hot chocolate and hot dogs. Kelly Tanner and his team of horses (above) were on-site offering free sleigh rides around the grounds.

Thomas and Evelyn O’Brien were all giggles and smiles as they slid down the giant hill, over and over again, at the Shawville Winter Carvinal on Saturday.
